“We are so excited to be presenting our annual 12 Cars of Christmas at our new location,” said Susan Jacobs, founder and CEO of Wheels of Success. “This location allows us to store our inventory of donated cars, maintain our corporate offices and hold our car care classes all under one roof. We’re extremely grateful and couldn’t have done this without the generosity of our Anonymous Angel Donor. Through this donor’s generosity, we will be able to keep our wheels moving forward as we continue to grow the organization and the number of people we are able to assist.”
The organization wants to thank its generous donors and supporters who helped make this presentation possible. The 12 cars were provided by individuals in the community and the sponsors for the repairs for this year’s 12 Cars of Christmas, include; Santander Consumer USA, GTE Financial, Children’s Board/Bay Area Legal Services (two cars), Altrusa, Amscot, Lazy Days Employee Foundation, Center for Faith and Freedom, Rotary Club of Tampa, Taylor Sanger and Friends, Florida Blue Foundation and AAA.
“Our generous sponsors and donors have made an enormous impact this year. With the current used car shortages and the uptick in used car prices, it’s been especially challenging, which makes this year’s 12 Cars of Christmas even more meaningful,”

Prelude to a Cure Receives Proclamation from Tampa Mayor, Jane Castor Declaring November “National Lung Cancer Awareness Month”
TAMPA, Fla. – Nov. 5, 2020 — Prelude to a Cure, a non-profit organization based in Tampa, Florida received an official proclamation from the City of Tampa’s Mayor Jane Castor, designating November as National Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Prelude to a Cure is committed to pursuing and supporting innovative lung cancer research focused on prevention, early screenings, improved treatment options and higher survival rates.
Lung cancer has been considered the “invisible cancer” due to the late onset of symptoms when the cancer is in advanced stages, low survival rate and lack of knowledge by the public. Currently it is the least federally funded of the top cancers, yet is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.
“We’re pleased that Mayor Castor and the City of Tampa have brought Lung Cancer Awareness to the forefront by issuing this proclamation. At Prelude to a Cure, we’re committed to funding vital seed grants that can help accelerate the pace of research toward effective treatments and ultimately a cure for a disease that is estimated to have over 228,000 new cases in 2020, with 18,150 of them being Floridians,”
Co-founder Dr. Scott Antonia, former Medical Oncologist and Co-Leader of the Immunology Program and Chairman of the Thoracic Oncology Department at Moffitt Cancer Center added, “Lung Cancer is not a smoker’s disease or old person disease; if you have lungs, you can develop lung cancer. If we end the stigma, we can find the cure.”
While the month of November brings awareness to Lung Cancer, Prelude to a Cure will continue its mission to educate, spread awareness and raise funds for valuable research to work toward the ultimate goal – a cure.
About Prelude to a Cure:
