ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Sept. 11, 2020 — The Left Bank Bistro will be celebrating artists in the community as an homage to St. Petersburg as the City of the Arts. To kick off this bi-monthly artist recognition, Lance Rodgers has been selected as the first featured artist.
“It’s my pleasure to recognize Lance Rodgers and his long history in the arts community as we celebrate artists – both past and present,” said Susanne Byram, owner of The Left Bank Bistro. “We have admired his work and feel he’s the perfect personality to kick-off our celebration of artists in the St. Petersburg community.”
The opening night of the celebration is on September 18th from 5:00 pm -7:00pm at the restaurant at 1225 Dr. MLK Jr. St. – the Left Bank will be serving a signature cocktail – with $5 from each cocktail being donated to the St Pete Arts Alliance. About the Artist, Lance Rodgers
Lance Rodgers is an award winning contemporary artist with a strong emphasis on painting and photography. Rodgers is known for creating visual narratives through his use of realism to transport the viewer on a visual journey. Some are introspections, others are larger, worldly observations often laced with humor and symbolism. All are thoughtful in subject, design and execution. In addition to his realism, Rodgers has produced a series of abstract paintings that he creates as mental clearings in between his narratives.
Since 1980, Rodgers has displayed his art in numerous galleries, museums and collections in the United States and abroad. His work is on permanent display at The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Arts & Sciences Museum of Ormond Beach, Gulf Coast Museum of Art, the American Embassy in Madrid, Spain as well as numerous private and corporate collections.
